Ben Crenshaw (above right) is recognised for his feats in golf, where he won 19 events on the PGA Tour, including the Masters - twice.
He is nicknamed Gentle Ben and is known in the sport as a traditionalist and historian. Since seeing The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, at age sixteen, he has held a fascination with golf architecture.
Ben has an appreciation of the game's subtleties gained from years of study and his playing success. Competition has taken Crenshaw to many of the world's most renowned golf courses where he has spent considerable time analysing their design and construction techniques. More recently, as amongst the world's most respected architects, Ben has remained committed to minimalist design, letting the landscape dictate the layout. Ben's excitement for Coul Links is based on his undying love and appreciation for Royal Dornoch Golf Club, where he is an Honorary Member.
